About
Moh Alsulaiman is an Ontario based ceramic artist and the founder of Terroso Studios. Originally from Syria, he came to Canada by way of Jordan, where he earned an engineering degree, later in Canada he obtained a post graduate certificate in human resources management.
His path to ceramics was anything but linear. During the pandemic, Alsulaiman turned inward, exploring his long-held creative side. What began as experimentation with plaster and polymer clay evolved into a deep commitment to traditional ceramic processes using natural clay. Largely self-taught through hands-on practice and independent study, he quickly found himself immersed in the craft.
Alsulaiman creates functional ceramic pieces and decorative objects defined by natural hues and sculptural forms that feel both raw and contemporary. A recurring motif in his work is the oversized ceramic chain, often draped from the mouth of a vessel, representing the connection to his heritage and roots which he got the inspiration from, as well as memories of growing up surrounded by his mother’s collection of handmade ceramics and jewelry.
Today, Moh manages every aspect of the studio, from production to shipping and marketing, and his work has reached a wide audience through online platforms and design recognition.
